1. My host urged me to pay $50 for eletricity bill, and it is up to 20% of the house's.
I asked her to show me the bill, and at first she cheated me by showing a bill of $ 1000 so I told her to show me the bill for this month, then she took out a bill of $250. Once I payed $50 on march because she asked me to do so, and at that time, she said as if she wouldn't ask for Feb. and April. , so I payed it just because I wanted to maintain good relationship as I were to stay for a short time. But yesterday she asked me for $30 for eletricity, and as I told her about that, she pretended to be ignorant and then she said, usually it was $60 as an eletricity expense, however, while I stayed at her house, it became $250. I requested her to show me the former eletricity bills but she rejected saying it is her personnel thing.
I don't think it will cost that much to use a laptop computer, and it really made me angry. She yelled at me, saying that I should follow her rules because I live in her house. She casted her burden on me. In the end she urged me to be off from her house if I won't pay for it, and she get into her room
2. It was really noisy around my house, especially on weekendsand nights.
Neighbors always turned on music loudly so I couldn't fully take a rest and it made me angry. Even at night, they turned music on loudly so it war hard to sleep. The lady always speaks F words, quarreles with neighbors. I could only hear the curses, though I am here to learn English. And I sometimes woke up at night, hearing siren of police car.
3. Hostess smokes.
I made my opinion clear at first that I don's like smoker in the house, and she was written nonsmoker in the brief information you sened to me. But she smokes, and when she uses computer in front of my room she definitely smells. Even in her room, it smells of smoke. I was really disappointed for EF, not identified this simple, basic thing. I don't think I was fully deserved though I payed a lot.4. other things I experienced.
- I even moved my room because of a new 2 girls from other English school. They, the girls were already supposed to be here, so it was just a notification that I couldn't reject. So I moved my room for a week.
- 2 days ago, mt hostess bought a new desk and she asked me a favor to help her to set up the desk. while I was setting up the desk she went into her room saying she would prepare for the supper, but soon, she went out with a guy, told me have supper by myself. I am not here to work as a housemaid.
- when milk ran out, she had me to go out and buy. The only thing she serves me is a cereal because she rarely cooks, so naturally I had cereal for breakfast and it's very natural to drink much milk, but she makes me to buy milk with my money.
It doesn't make sense. I payed for breakfast, so she should buy milk with that money, I payed. After that I became to buy foods with my money to have. I don't usually touch any foodstuffs in her house. - Dishes were usually oily because she doesn't do the dishes clean. And the sink smells bad because of it. So I always do the dishes and clean the house. There is molde fruit on the table, but she leaves that. It sucks.
Her kitchen is hard to believe. I don't know that people here doesn't care the kitchen clean but to me, its hard to follow. Do you want to have some water with the oily cup? - The first scene I saw was a bleeding guy helped by two police men at the subway. And sometimes I could hear that there were accidents in this town from the news. Maybe this kind of surroundings are ready for a student to show the REAL America, but I can't agree with the policy of EF's, let foreign student stay this harsh circumstances.
What I want to say is, EF is for an Engligh Learning.
Of course it's hard to listen everyones opinion. So I tried really hard to endure because I will stay for short term. However, as time goes by, things are getting worse and worse. I don't know that the way of life here is so, but I think it went far over the edge. I know that many students made objections. But EF should have confirmed this kind of dissatisfaction.
I see an assigning this house to me was an obvious deception.
I want an appology from my hostess for her lie with the eletricity expense.
I can never forgive her deceptive attitude, as she treated me a "stupid foreigner".
I want a full response from you with those ugly things.
From whom it may concern(this means 1. the hostess, 2. EF, esp. house assignor) I should get a deep appology.
If not, I will do someother strong actions.
I hope that EF isn't low taste.
I hope EF has morals to concern students.
